Application

Apply for a scholarship or learn more about who can apply, as well as get tips and keep track of important dates in the application process.

How does it work

The form

In the application form, you should briefly describe yourself and your idea. You need to get to the core of your story and idea quickly without forgetting important details. Keep in mind that the Jury has no prior knowledge about you or your idea.

Where does your idea come from? Why is it important to you? Can it have a positive impact on others?

What drives you? Is it a personal experience that led you to your idea? That’s what the Jury wants to hear! Let your personal engagement come through.

Remember that you are your idea! You as an individual are just as important as your idea when the Jury evaluates the applications.

The Jury reviews all applications and selects those who will present themselves and their idea to the Jury. The Jury then decides who will receive the scholarship. The scholarship recipients are invited to a scholarship ceremony in Stockholm, where they get to meet the Jury, previous recipients, and XO’s network.

Want to apply? Here are some quick tips & tricks below.

TIP 1

Keep in mind that the entire application, once you’ve answered all questions, should fit on a single A4 page.

Tip 2

Don’t waste words on writing your name, age, or where you’re from “Hi, my name is Nisse Gurka, I’m 25 years old and grew up in an area outside Gävle”, that information is already filled in at the beginning of the form.

TIP 3

Don’t be afraid to be personal! The Jury is just as interested in you as an individual as in your idea, because you are your idea.

TIP 4

Be yourself in the application, avoid ChatGPT or other tools — it’s better to be yourself than to try to create a perfect and overly professional text.

TIP 5

You don’t need to have a budget, business plan, or PowerPoint presentation ready to submit your application. You as an individual are just as important as your idea when the Jury evaluates the applications.

TIP 6

Remember to share your vision! It doesn’t need to be long, but it’s important to explain how your idea impacts your surroundings, area, or community. What impact will it have?

TIP 7

It’s good if you have a plan for how your idea will become self-sustaining, so that it is long-term sustainable.

TIP 8

When you explain how you will use the scholarship, we want to hear what knowledge and tools you need to bring your idea to life. Avoid financial terms, and instead explain if you for example need to do a study trip to explore a new market, attend seminars, workshops, or if there is another type of competence you need for implementation.

TIP 9

Remember that you know best who you are and how to express it.
